Buy a piece of MDF and get ur dad to build you a box its like what 30 bucks for a sheet of mdf? then an amp installation kit is prob round $30-40 for 4ga

I'm thinking of just setting these things up in my room, powering the amp with a car battery and running the audio signal from my RCA home stereo amp.. Is there a way to hook that up? If not how else (Short of hooking it up to a HU) can I get this thing going in my room?

that would prob work...after a while youd have to charge the battery tho lol and have to find a place to ground the battery...dunno if theres a place to do that in ur house

The way you described would work just fine. You would need to adjust the gain on the amp. Home stereos have weird voltages. If the stereo has a sub out jack, you're set.

If you don't want to send them back, use them. No sense in spending the money and doing nothing.

What you could do, is offer to sell them to a friend, after they hear how slamming it is in your car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif :laugh: Then buy a similar setup to the type-r and JBL amp.

Audiobahn isn't bottom of the barrel: You could have gone with PYLE or Legacy. You're off to a better start than most.

I just talked to my dad who works as a a/v designer and he knows a lot about hooking stuff up, he said that I could run a line from a headphone jack through a splitter that would end in RCA plugs, and plug that into the amp for the subs, and then go from there.

Oh and btw I'll be using a camper battery, which has a recharger.

So.... am I all set?

Edit: 'Nother question.. how do I hook the speakers up, the inputs on the box are in the lower half, but the speakers get mounted with the cones facing down, with the terminals in the upper half of the box...

Haha, the auction said the bandpass enclosure can handle 15,000 watts.

This site has some great box plans, its a sticky inside the enclosure design forum. I've built 2 of the boxes in there and they both sound great.
