What's up guys.. My name's Brian. Im 16 and I have a '96 Nissan Maxima and I'm currently working on putting together a half decent sound system together for it, but I'm afraid I just blew about 300 on a crappy system.

Any opinions/ideas what I can do to make everything sound alright? I think I may just have to **** it up or return it if I can and just keep saving up for better gear.

Return them if you can. Without even asking you what you want out of your system, Im positive we can match you up with better stuff. If you can't return it, start a new thread and start asking questions how to make the best out of what you have (enclosure design etc).

Alright, depending on if I have to pay shipping to return them, I probably will. I make about $95 a week at work so I think I might just save up for another week or two. Wanna give me some suggestions as to what the best bang for my buck is? I think I'm probably looking at 3-5 or 6 hundred max.

If you can't return them, you're not in awful shape just yet. With the proper enclosure and such, you can make better than the "stock" setup you purchased.

If so, you can find some really decent stuff for that price range, and be very happy. Let us know what happens.

well, you gotta start somewhere. And for what it is worth, it is better then stock. The amp says 1 ohm capable so wire the speakers parallel (positive from each channel to positive of both voice coils per speaker and do neg. the same way. This will give you a 2 ohm load. If the amp says it is 1 ohm stable bridged, then wire each speaker pos. to the bridged pos. and same for neg. this would give you a 1ohm load and the most power the amp can make. Then crank it up till it blows and buy some better stuff (after selling the box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ).

The one thing that you will need it a HeadUnit that has outputs to go into the amp. If the amp has a crossover built into it then you could pick up a cheap HU with 2 or 4 pre-amp outs and built in power for your door speakers.

Or, just get a good headunit when you can afford it and hook this up to it until you can afford better stuff //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I say make do with what you got for now, you do have to start somewhere and you are young. If you return them you will lose the $75 shipping fee and it is not worth it.
