I will be coming into a large sunm of money soon from the military. With the economy the way it is, what would you reccomend an 18 year old kid invest in? Be speciffic please, "stocks" isn't to helpful.

yea its my signing bonus from the army, and my grandparents bought me...quite a few savings bonds when i was born and they've just been gaining interest all these years. It was supposed to be for college, but since i got a full ride academically its all money in my pocket to do what i want with now. I'm trying to be somewhat responsible, the only thing i'm considering buying is a bike because they get 60+ mpg

Personally, I would do the research myself rather than listen to a bunch of people on CA.com...
