That is true. If I am wrong, I have suffered no less consequence than not believing at all. If religion is indeed like a lottery, you have to play to win. You are chosing not to play simply because you fear the odds are stacked against you. Good luck getting wealthy or going to heaven. Believing you are right against all odds is fundamental to both.Yes but like I stated before there are too many religions to choose from there for if one of the choices is even correct you have a higher chance mathematically to fail.. And just because a mass majority picked christianity it makes it the right choice? No.. Most of the so-called christians don't even know about their own religion let alone any of the others... the followed the group
chill your just to fast for meI have explained this. I can try to explain it again step by step if needed.
I posted this before you even thought about joining a forum.Quoting the bible is like quoting a great fiction story, it cant be used in an argument because there isn't any scientific reference behind it.
Why do you hope?makes sense...and just to put it out there i have nothing against religion...i myself dont have "faith"... but hay i hope there is a god
its fine man. i can tell your passionate about this....Sorry, I was generalizing the non-christian side of the debate, my bad![]()
This isn't my first or last input on this topic. You don't accumulate 303y27 posts talking about caps or which subs wang the hardest, yo!chill your just to fast for me![]()
i have no "side". i just like question people's logic and i make decisions that i believe are logical //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifah yes! I was't sure what side you are on though.
well listen, if you can explain this "game theory" to me in a way that it will make me believe in Santa Clause and the easter bunny again and make my christmas and easter fun again i will for sure give this whole jesus, god thing a try too.Believe what you want how it makes sense to you. I am one of the few that will admit the foundation for my faith is mathematics. It is a game theory math problem in which the solution requires faith. I belive very strongly in what I know about game theory. Thus, faith is the optimal solution. I don't see why many people contest that so much. I am thinking is it a lack of formal education in math and economics.

What make you think Christians don't question? I question everyday "why" why is my son retarded? why has my business failed? why am I 38yrs old and losing my house, why would God allow this to happen?what did i say that was all that hateful? i used the word dam n..... i apologize for my vulgar words haha
i figure even christians were smart enough to question a book written by man. i mean it was written by someone you didnt know. i bet if your friend came over right now at told you a story that just happened you would think that story was so exaggerated and you probably wouldnt believe most of it. what makes you think these stories written thousands of years ago arent so unbelievable skewed and exaggerated that who knows if there are any facts in the book. right?
sucks when common sense comes into the argument. do you still believe in the easter bunny and santa clause?
let me rephrase.....an afterlife.... not necessarily godI posted this before you even thought about joining a forum.
Why do you hope?
Believing in no after life has a payoff of zero.well listen, if you can explain this "game theory" to me in a way that it will make me believe in Santa Clause and the easter bunny again and make my christmas and easter fun again i will for sure give this whole jesus, god thing a try too.
Are you suggesting that the "establishment of the church" is a regressive tax?you know the only economics in christianity that makes sense to me is that if we get rid of churches and religion most of the poverish areas might get a little wealthier. just about any poverish community ive ever been too all have something in common. usually people dont have money to eat but there are churches every 100 ft and the pastors, preachers, etc are usually driving new cars and have plenty of money.. no matter how poor they are, they are guilted into giving most of their money to the church..... without those churches maybe the cities wouldnt be so poor......
I try to live, to show what I am in more than words. I am not suprised or upset by anything here. This is a great forum, a great topic, with 2 radically different sides. I do wish we could debate with respect, as shown by Flip. Christianity is my life, and to read some of the words is sad, not the questions of my faith, but the derogatory comments could be left at the door. but I expect no lessits fine man. i can tell your passionate about this....
What version of an afterlife is godless? I know not one that is conceptually complete.let me rephrase.....an afterlife.... not necessarily god
