Hertz ESK165 vs ID CTX65cs

So recently, I've been reading a lot on here about these 2 component sets and I really wanted to see how the ESK165 stacked up against the forums hottest budget component set other than the RSD, the CTX165 set. My buddy is running the CTX component set so we decided to take them out and try my latest purchase, the ESK165 in his car. I am no expert by any means, but from a direct swap here are some things we noticed. The ESK tweeter is a bit more detailed when we were listening to classical, or rock.. mainly the strumming of guitars or instruments playing. It seemed to pop more. The ESK tweeter was able to handle a bit more power without breaking up or getting harsh (a complaint my friend had with his CTX components). The CTX components however got a tad lower when the kick drums played. This could be due to the fact that they are broken in, or just better by design, that I am unsure of. I'll have to update the thread once I break these in my girlfriends car. I haven't gotten to hear them for that long, I am just excited I got to try them out and wanted to share since so many people ask about budget components on here. Hope this helps someone!

btw: This was all in stock locations on a 2005 honda civic.

hmmmm. im anxious to see the updates as I have the same car and were looking at the CTX's myself.

any idea on how these would be compared in relation to polk momo's, mmc6500 to be exact... wondering if either of these sets would be that much, if any upgrade.

if it means anything to you, my friend was convinced enough to sell his CTX's VERY soon. BTW, this was pushed with about 125-150wrms on each side.

I have not heard the Hertz so i can not compare the 2 directly. I have owned lots of comps from MB's, infinity, Polk, Boston, CDT, Crystal and so on. The ID Ctx have been one of my favorite in the $300.00 and less price range so far.
