Hercules or 2500d?

Go with the DEI Orion....

Hifonics amps are great for people on tight budgets, but they are far from the Hifonics amps from 10 years ago. Go to eCoustics and ask Glass Wolf about them. He's seen actual bench tests in person on these newer Hifonics amps. That Brutus 1500w RMS mono amp does about 1000w RMS.
gen xx amps are a totally different animal vs the zues or brutus lines. colosus is a very mean 12.5 volt amp and thats not even their big dog anymore even when shopping by price the zues and brutus lines are generaly cheaper had than regular dei stuff unless its online/refurb.

Orion 2500d can be had for 550 shipped at most, possibly 525...
i have to get from a dealer. i think viper would be better though because as a little birdie pointed out to me itll do max power at one ohm so i will be louder with the one sub and run both for daily and driveby at 2ohm

Just how mean are those Colosus amps now days? Ten years ago, those amps were considered top-notch. This is when there was only ONE Zeus, Boltar, and Colosus. These amps were right there with US, Xtant, Zapco, and Orion from 10 years ago. Things have changed.

I'd go with the cheapest. DEI manufactures Orion, Viper, Directed, a/d/s, and a few others.
no way:rolleyes: all im saying is its dumb to compare a brutus (entry level) to a 2500d (other companies high end) hifonics still make the generation lines and its totally different than a zues or brutus in fact their maximus and goliath amps are the biggest most powerfull amps they have ever released. the down side is they dont have a more powerful amp in the 2500d's price range unless 750 bucks counts in that range http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/3559

im not argueing the point of which is better for him im argueing even mentioning a zues or brutus is stupid any way you want to cut it

http://www.maxxsonics.com/hifonics/ampsnew_maxxgol.html

reason to why people might have stayed away from a colosus is they were outlawed in db drags for a couple yrs (not to mention harder to find than a entry level line of hifonics. toxic tuan has alot of experience with both http://www.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?t=95327&page=7 read up if you like lol
