ah, i missed that. Congrats to you, but potheads in general who say they aren't breaking the law, and lack the medical card, are criminals.
It shouldn't be legalized because all smokers are evil criminals... because they break the law... by smoking pot? Talk about a catch-22. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
If your best argument against legalization is that smokers are 'law breakers' for merely breaking the law that is being discussed here, that's a pretty piss-poor argument.
Obama advised he is directing enforcement away from legit medical marijuana, he didn't and can't change the federal laws on his own, they are still there. What you are doing is still illegal, whether you get caught or not doesn't change that.
....meh...hippies
More catch-22 logic aimed at casting pot smokers in an evil light.
Federal law still prohibits it. State laws in some states do not. This is the same federal versus states' rights that caused the civil war. Here in California clinics are given business liscenses, incured all the regulations, fee's, taxes, etc... only to have the feds raid them 3 months later, take all their 'legally' purchased product, seize all their 'private' records, and then pile back into their black vans and drive away. And your response to this entire amazing political battle that places citizens in the trenches...? That fed law says its illegal so by god pot smokers are still hiding in the shadows smoking their illicit substance. I really expect more from you.
Let me ask you this, if Congress, tomorrow, made marijuana legal, would your attitude about it or the people who smoke it change? Be honest. Because your entire stance is based on its legal status. When pro-pot people make valid points about the moral, scientific and statistical issues of pot smoking, tha fall-back retort always seems to be 'law breaker!'
Some people are just too brainwashed on the evils of marijuana to participate in a realistic debate. People who use terms like 'potheads'... but have zero moral qualms about tipping back a few beers after work. People who, when met with logic to substantiate the other side of the argument, simply fall back on 'its against the law so you are a criminal'. Come on guys, think for yourselves, not what your 5th grade teacher told you.
