Help need for a Newbie/Novice to get my speakers working

I own a 1997 Daihatsu Grand Move. I installed a Sony CDX-GT240 head unit into it a couple of years ago. I have attempted to replace my speakers to improve the sound quality as the factory fitted ones are poor quality.

I purchase a pair of Pioneer TS-G1323i 3-way Coaxial speakers to replace them but when i hooked one up to check it is very quiet and starts to distort and crackle when volume is turned up.

The Speakers 220watt Maximum and 35watt nominal

The Head Unit is 4x 45watt max power output

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Were these speakers brand new? If the speakers are brand new and test good, you more than likely have a wiring issue

In that case I would check over your wiring then... If the stock setup had separate mids / tweeters then you could have some form of in-line x overs or resistors that you will need to bypass to use the stock wiring, otherwise just run new speaker wire from your HU to each speaker and you should be back in business //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
