Help me with a vision...

I already installed my BX1500D. I used it to power RF 12's. Low end, 150w rms @ 4 ohm. I wired them in parallel for a 2 ohm load. It got loud, but I blew the sh*t out of them. No big deal.

What I want to know is...

I have a custom box from LoneRanger coming in soon, as well as a Digital Designs 9512 sub. Can anyone give me an idea what that will sound like, possibly compared to the crappy subs that I listened to already?

What does true 1500w rms power with ~30mm of xmax on a nice motor'd sub sound like? How loud is it? With those crappy RF's, I could tickle my neck hairs, what will the DD do?

I'm trying to figure out how much louder it can be, my system wasn't much, but for being inside the car, it was pretty loud. How much louder can a nice 12" like the DD be?

I'm at work, and I want to get some analogies, some ideas, or whatever you think can help me visualize, the bass?

Chances are, it will be pretty **** loud. Its all in the install but depending on the box, your overall settings, and all that, it has the ability to hurt your ear drums. DD 9500 series doesnt sound all that great reproducing music though.

Well, the box is ported and tuned to 28 hz, 3.33 cubes, 1" MDF. Build like a rock.

And you say the DD won't retain the same SQ eh? Hmmm.. maybe I'll sell my DD off to my brother and get an XXX...

XXX will sound way better than the 9500 but probably wont get as loud. That XXX will still be loud though.

Hmm, I will probably end up trading for an XXX then, since I'd like a bit more SQ than what this 9512 will probably give me. Oh well, at least I'll get to try out some different products.

What other subs are similar in performance and power ratings that I can swap into this box to see how they sound? I know it's cheaper to swap boxes than to swap subs, but I'd be interested in testing out a few different subs.

I'm running the Hifonics Brutus BX1500D, 1500RMS @ 1 ohm

Box is 3.33 cubes ported - tuned to 28 hz.

I will be trying the:

Digital Designs 9512

RE XXX 12"

Any others that are compatible with my amp that are high performance subs? Thanks for any input.

What dd9512 do you have? whats the coil config?

Umm you could try and Adire Audio Brahma perhaps? Just a suggestion.

My 9512 is Dual 2 ohm, so I should be able to parallel it to 1 ohm for my amp.

Maybe I'll try the brahma after I try my XXX. I love trading around equipment anyhow, it's fun.
