Hello,
I'm kinda new to the car audio buisness and need some help. Yesterday I got a Alpine CDA-9851. Got it all hooked up and working, but it sounds like crap. At lower volumes it sounds nice and clear, but has no bottom end. At higher volumes, but not maxxed out, it distorts like crazy, sounds bad, and still has no bottom end. I know it's not my speakers becuase I had them in with the stock head unit for a month and a half and they hit pretty hard for their size and sounded pretty good at all volumes, well until the stocker cut out the bass when you turned it up. Just to let everyone know the speakers are Alpine SPS-17C2's which are 6.5 inch Type S two ways. For 4 6.5 inch speakers they hit pretty hard with the stock head unit. I know this combo should sound good and hit as well if not better than the stocker. I mean aftermarket compared to stock, but it just sounds bad unless you have it at a level where your trying to talk to someone in the car. If anyone has any advice, I would very much appreciate it. I do plan on getting subs before the summer is over, but I know my speakers can shake me enough until then, right now its just not cutting it. Thank you.
