My introduction/information.
First off I know nothing about car audio,I'm 31, into cars of all kinds, used to ride sportbikes. My current toys are a 87 CRX si I put about $8K in so far with rare aftermarket parts. My other toy is a 74' 406CI powered Oldsmobile Omega ( exact same as a nova of the same year).
I am here to learn and study up on things. Possibly buy some stuff (I am paypal verified , 100%
ebay, and many vouches under the same name in another forum)
I have a very mint 1987 CRX SI That I bought. It had a sound system from the early 90's in it maybe?
It had a SONY CDX-C?? something with a weird rotary control. I took it out because only half the face lit up and would not play Burned CD's ,but it still sounded good. It now has a cheezy $150 JVC unit.
The fronts are soundstream Exact 4.2's but there is also separate tweeters in the doors.
In the rear brackets are Exact 5.2's
they run off of a old soundstream rubicon (I never checked what kind its under the seat)
This thing has 5 soundstream crossovers one after the amp and 4 more that go to the exacts.
The subwoofer is a pioneer spare tire sub (now blown due to myself turning the gain up) running off of a soundstream lil wonder (tiny thing)
I plan on getting some soundstream subs but I really want 2 8's .
In the future I plan on ripping the system apart and re-wiring the whole system with more up to date wiring.
The old owner also threw in a Soundstream Granite 110.2 amp and a PC-100 monoblock crossover (whatever that is)
