Hello! Need some help

i have a polk audio 800 watt rms at 2 ohm amp and a dd 1508 in a 4th order box both used for 320 shipped plus fees .this would sound nice in you little car.just enough bass ,but not to much .also if you would like a quote on some components i can do that ,and even have them shipped to you direct prolly in 1 day even .

So the setup i decided to go with is Precision Power PPI P900.4, Alpine SPR-60C, and Image Dynamics ID15 D2 V.3.. thx for the help neo_styles
Just a warning on those Type R Components, the Tweeters are very harsh, you may not like them if you don't like blaring highs.

Don't mention it...just head on up to Porter Ranch when it's all done so I can see how it all came together.
i'm looking into getting these by this weekend or so.. and hopefully have everything done sometime next weekend.. gotta love youtube for diy..

im more of a bass head and i like clarity.. i havent heard highs from other cars so i dont have much to compare with.. i looked at the infinity reference.. what do you recommend for around $150.. amp puts out 100rms..

For 150, ask @mylows10 ; for his pricing on the Massive Audio CK6V. Those should perform much better than the Type R. New Infinity Reference isn't that bad, but the Kappa's leaps and bounds better. Only problem with the Kappas is finding somewhere to mount that giant tweeter.

I really like the look of the Massive Audio CK6X's, but haven't personally heard them. The only 150$ comps I've tried and really liked were the Image Dynamics CTX's, no experience with Infinity whatsoever really.

bump!

i got everything installed.. im glad i actually got the comps in today too.. although my left side isnt working.. so i got to get that fixed.. i'll take some pics tomorrow and post..

setup:

kenwood excelon kdc-x496

precision power ppi p900.4

image dynamics id12v2 v3

mb quart premium pce 216 comps

my music listening has gotten much more enjoyable!

WTG, man.

What are you thinking of that ID? It's definitely weird listening to an SQ-oriented sub. I get a completely different impression on literally every single song I've ever listened to between this and a 12w3.

Also, once I get my ID10 in Brian's (Starr Mountain Sound) box, I'll let you hear the difference between it and the Ground Shaker you got in. Just want to make sure you're getting the full potential out of your system.

it's unbelievable.. i was disappointed at first. the sub sounded so weak and i wanted more thump to it. then the shop owner told me that it wasnt bridged! after it was done, amazing!

i wanted to install it myself but after i took a look at the crowded engine bay. i just went with the safer route.. i'm glad i did, because there was definitely some drilling and many hours of labor especially for the comps.. i'm guessing it took around 6 hours..

Yeah, I wouldn't consider the ID a thump kinda sub. It kinda just disappears in the rest of the system...at least it's getting there in mine, even at less than 200 watts to my ID10 sealed. I still need a proper enclosure and my front stage to install since I really can't register the midbass from my rear speakers while sitting up front. I'm borrowing a jig from someone at work, so hopefully I'll be done before Christmas with everything and she'll be ready to go.
