Hello everyone!

I found this site in a web search and joined the site to learn just how far things have progressed in the years I've been away from the hobby. I'm also trying to learn the process of building interior panels to house my equipment and have found a couple of great articles so far!

Back in the late 80's to the early 90's I built several competition style sound systems that would be considered crude by today's standards. I never got serious about it since I'm completely deaf in my left ear and cannot afford to lose the hearing in my right ear. I do enjoy a well rounded, clean sounding system though.

With that said, I will introduce you to my 2 projects that I plan on installing sound systems into. One is a typical project, the other isn't.

The first one is a 1972 Mercury Comet GT that will be built into a show car of sorts. The second one is my oddball, a 1986 Club Car Golf Cart. I'm not wanting much out of this one, just something to listen to while riding around or doing work outside.

I've worked on cars, trucks, and motorcycles since I was 8 years old. I worked in the industry for several years and still would be if it weren't for a lower back injury. Bodywork and electrical systems don't bother me in the least so I tend to jump into projects with both feet. It just takes me a little longer to do things now is all.

Thanks for the Welcome! From what I've read so far, I've still got a ton of reading to do just to begin to catch up with what's going on now! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Kramer, Thank You for the link! Some of the stuff I'm going to be using on the Golf Cart is quite old (pull out AM/FM cassette that NO ONE will want to steal! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif ) and that site will come in handy to refresh my memory on the old equipment.

Thanks again,

Thanks again for the welcome!

I swear, the more I read on here, the more I realize that I have a lot of things to relearn and catch back up on! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Thanks for the Welcome!

Yea, I guess I am an old man playing in a young man's world... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Hopefully with the help of this forum this old dog can learn some new tricks! I've been reading some here and there and I think I'm starting to get the hang of a little bit of the new stuff.
