Heat Concerns

hey guys i have a question about heat.

I have an MTX TC4004 amp running my speakers and a Sony Xplod XM-280GTX running my subs. Recently I relocated these amps to my spare tire well as the spare is out. My concern is will this amps make too much heat to be there? The MTX is a class A/B and I know those are notorious for heat.

Edit: I should also add that my model of car has the battery in the trunk from factory so the bulk of my wiring is also in the spare tire well

Deff get a fan. Usually like a Computer fans from best buy. Maybe mount one on one side thats ******* air and one on the other side thats blowing air to get some circulation and especially with summer coming up it will get hot back there. And you can get fans with l.e.d.s on them that kinda look cool.

just circulating the air in the trunk is fine? I got some computer fans kicking around i was thinking of mounting the amps on a board and placing two fans on top

You might put them on the board then have the fans blowing over the amps. But could you not mount the amps on the sub box? Because personal I would do that if your able to because it wouldn't be couped up in that lil space but it would be nice to have them out of the way under there.

I mean of course cold air would be best but since you can’t dictate the weather any kind of moving air is better than none at all. I tried the amp in spare tire thing with my ed9.2 but it just got way to hot (Louisiana summers) and I am too lazy to do any extra work on my car as I already have a list a mile long.

I had them behind the subs before but i have a Pontiac Pursuit and they have a small trunk to begin with so im trying to clear up some room

In Ontario, the hottest it gets is about 35C/95F so its not too bad but I do run my system pretty hard so Im going to try and make a cooled enclosure for my amps. Ive seen some designs online and I think I know how im going about this. I'll have to post some pics up
