I've had my subwoofers since March, and I crank my system with the bass boost way too much. It used to be if i listened to my system with the bass boost on for too long, my ears would kind of deafen, but then if i waited awhile and turned it down, my ears would open back up. When i first got my system, i noticed that I could hear that bass that "tickles" / "surrounds" your ears if you know what I mean. It's that bass that fills up your whole ear, and its usually on low notes. Due to listening at high volumes, I am noticing now that I can't hear that bass that I once loved... My ears are still deafened/closed, and I can't really hear the bass as good as I used to.
Has this happened to anyone else? I'm hoping that if i turn off my amp for a couple weeks, that my ears will get used to just my stock speakers and will "open" back up, so when I turn it back on, I will be able to enjoy the way the bass sounded when I first got my system.
Also, Christmas is coming up, so it'll be good timing. During Christmas time i listen to a local radio statinon that plays christmas music all day during December, and i dont think i'll need much bass for that lol.
So has this happened to anyone else? about their ears deafening?
