headunit ohms

Stupid but simple question. Im thinking of bypassing my factory amp. The factory amp and speakers were 2ohms. Does that mean the HU is outputting 2 ohms? If the ohms are 2 coming out the HU, does it matter that its going into a 4 ohm setup considering the output is so low?

HU->360.3->alpine pdxv9->4ohm setup

Also, will I lose volume if the hu is 2?

Thanks

The speakers determine the ohms, not the head unit or the amplifier. If you connect 4 ohm speakers then it's 4 ohms. Set the levels properly with the 360.3 and the amplifier and you will not lose "volume".

I spoke to someone from fosgate and they said that I couldn't/shouldn't put the 360 right after the headunit (factory) because its meant to go after the factory amp. He said the factory HU most likely doesn't control the volume and most likely doesn't have the full audio spectrum range in it (that one is crazy to me) and that all of this is in the amp of newer cars. I know the newer models control a lot...but volume and containing the full freq range? Mine is an 08 infiniti m35x. How true is this? He also said the 360 needs a minimum of .5-1v input on the low level and my headunit prob wouldn't do this. How true is all of this?
