Headliner GLUE - what to use, Super 77 didnt cut it

Well I redid my headliner about 2 months ago with 3m Super 77

Needless to say the shit is sagging on the curves.

What else can be used that will be **** near permanent? That I can buy local aswell, as I would like to do this tomorrow

did you scrape and brush all the old foam off? that is key but headliner glue worked well for me it was made just for headliners not a carpet or for anything else. It gets hot up there and gravity is on a constant attack. Do not stretch the new material at all not even a little or it falls. jc whitney had some stuff I have used back in high school I did a bunch of cars with stuff from there and a few cars around still are holding after 10 years.

like got parts said cleaning is key! ive had good lukc with the 3m highstrength 90, it has higher heat ratings as well

You need contact adhesive, stuff used for carpeting vehicles.

Just about anything that's gonna work worth a shit, is gonna require you buy it at least a gallon at a time, you'll need a glue gun and compressor.

Well it seems to be holding good on the flats like you mentioneed, but on the dops/curves, its prety much all letting go

I was thinking of going straight to a contact cement or soemthing. The headliners pretty thick, its alsmost like a carpet that i ended up going with, so its got some weight to it

Oh, and btw, I never even removed the old headliner from the backing, just glued right overtop as it was not a matty/fabric type of headliner, was very smooth, just stained and tatterred

Would contact cement work? I would need a but load of it and its probly pretty expensive eh....

Possibly regular wood glue may work?

Well I dont really have access to a gun or compressor, and I want to do this within the next 3 days so everything I buy has to be local......

That sucks.

Look up a local upholstery place and see if you can purchase glue from them.

Ya i tried that today, only local place is called fabricland, best solution they had was elmers spray adhesive lol, Id spray that shit on my nuts and not be scared lol

thats why right there rip the old shit off and wire brush until you see the cardboard or plastic it is made of. in other words RTFM

There's nothing "Super" about Super77. Use at least the Super90.

Im thinking of going to a straight contact cement if I can find one that spreads easy

I use the 90 with good results.You just can't pull on the fabric while laying it in the corner.Anytension seems to pull the fabric away.

PS You have to spray both surfaces and let them tack up for the best results
