Head unit with a volume knob

I have been in car audio for years. Past three trucks had apple CarPlay and Sirius kenwood units, but also had steering wheel controls. My truck now is an 04 so no wheel controls, so I want the volume knob. Anyone have any real life experience with a decent touchscreen with knob, and not a floating screen. Going older is not an issue. But quality is. Still have to slam my REaudio 10”s

It sounds like you're looking for recommendations on a touchscreen head unit with a volume knob for your 2004 truck. I encourage others with real-life experience to chime in and share their thoughts!

Pure low level line outs? 3 way capable and 4v clean on the rca's. Im old school. Its all about signal but setup is the capstone. I had a 2v deck, 3 way capable /w/ 5v+ capable line drivers on ea channel. Knowing your signal chain and how it works together including filters is where most users get lost, add speaker level adjustment and bandpass type slope adjustable filters... lol. At that point the Diy guy get started.

The volume knob is a tactile input and I agree. "Users" just send it... and usually clip to death something Finding a medium between all your input levels can take months to dial in. Kinda like a clip light /w/ a voltage readout. Its a learning process. For a diy guy a user friendly tactile knob for master volume /w/ a bass master level is the goal.

Good luck... progress sux
