Head unit troubleshooting help needed

I just picked up a used Eclipse 8454 and wired it up and it will not read cds of any kind. Reads the ms just fine. Tried cleaning it to no avail. Tried resetting..no joy. Mechanically it appears everything is working fine...I assume the laser has been knocked out of alignment. Any ideas? How do you fix it? Please help...

picked it up from someone on another forum....I am very willing to give him the benefit of the doubt as it was packed well with all paperwork including original receipt, otherwise unit is in flawless condition. I think it may have gotten dropped or something during shipping (DHL).
