Ok, so I have been working on a system for a friend of mine. As of now, it consists of a JVC KW-XR610, a PPI BK800.4, a Hifonics BXi 1200D, Skar Supertweeters, Sundown NeoPro V2's, and temporarily, 2 12" Pioneer TS-W302R's.
Today, his Pioneer DEH-80PRS came in, and we're hesitant to install it because of the following:
Well, the problem is, we were test running the system on the JVC head unit, and it worked great for about 20 minutes, then, suddenly the head unit shut off and a high pitched humming came through the tweeters. Everything was working flawlessly for the first 20 minutes, so this seemed very strange to us. All connections are terminated appropriately, so I don't believe it could be a short. No fuses were blown in the process. Could it be the head unit? If so, will the PRS fix the problem? I'm stumped on this one.
Thank you,
