Head Unit Removal Question...

Hi,

I just started getting into this sort of thing, and I have a question. I bought a nicer head unit than my other aftermarket one. I did not install the old one, so I want to know how to remove it.

The car is a Saturn, and the Head Unit is a Sony. If possible, please provide pictures... THANK YOU!

**** you.

Alright you should be able to pop off the trim ring around the Sony radio (pull the faceplate off to make it easier first).

If it's a newer Sony you should just be able to just slide some Sony keys in the sides and then yank it right out. Chances are its an older Sony, so you'll notice on the sides are two pieces of flat metal coming out. Push those inward and the pull the radio out. When you put the new radio in, remember to remove the cage from the Sony and use the new cage. This is PROBABLY the method you'll use... there is a slight chance the radio could be ISO mounted but I doubt it.

If the radio is ISO mounted (screwed into the dash kit from the sides) then you're going to have to take the radio trim off to get to it. I'm assuming you have a little older Saturn. It's got a couple clips on the sides that you can remove and then you take it off, then you can remove the screws holding the dash kit in. If you need help past this PM me.
