Hey everyone im looking for a better head unit to use when I install my brand new system from scratch. RIght now I have a really REALLY cheap JVC I think its the g220 model. I bought it for like 70 bucks or something about a year ago. The system includes the following:

CDT comps CL-61a (110rms)

Kicker 650.4(120 rms x 4 @ 4 ohm)

Hifonics 1606D(1600rms @ 1 ohm)

2 Pioneer Premier 3004 SPLS's

No rear fill(Maybe later)

Anyways I have seen alot of people with Pioneers, Kenwoods, and more frequently ECLIPSE is all over the place. Im using the search function as well to get some opinions on a new head unit, but throw out some suggestions that you think would fit this system nice!

Im an ebay man, I dont buy from companies to get 3 year warranties for an extra $100+ dollars. So im only buying on ebay unless its a killer deal.

Yeah I just spend $250 on the hifonics, $175 on the kicker, and $99 for the comps, and going to spend probably $250 on 2 Pioneers, Im not down with spending $300 on a head unit, I know its probably a good deal etc, but I cant spend $300 right now, and im not willing to wait.

SO lets do something under $200 forget I even said $250. $200 an under Looking around $125

I dont need a head unit that badly. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

I just think subs amps and speakers are more important that head units...and I know their are some good head units out there for around $150 instead of $300, no disrespect to you, I appreciate your advice.

headunits are very important to a system. a headunit, especially in your case, is where all the processing comes from and where you fine tune your music, and also what you use to play different music sources such as mp3 player and satellite radio

Yeah everyone says that and I know that but anybody would rather have a great sub and a crappy HU vs a great HU and some no name crap sub its just the way it is

I dont need any ipod crap and WMA and MP3 I mean all of the headunits have that nowadays and I dont use satellite radio, Id just like something better than what I have

An amplifier will only amplify the signal going into it. A sub or speaker will only reproduce what the amplifier feeds it. This all comes from the source.

You may want to rethink your logic.

if u dont wanna spend more than 125$

I got a lnib alpine cda-9847, bought in jan of 06, however, i was 15 in 06 and didnt drive hardly ever, its had more use driving to school in these last 2 weeks, then the whole year before.

Lnib, no scratches on anything, works great. Id say 100$ it was 185 new.

Mike-

also i second notion to save but if not check what i wrote. 880 prs and eclipse 5000 would do nicely, both around 250 - 300
