head unit just started smoking

i know people say bass boost is bad for your system but what about bass level it goes from 0-8 and then it can go negactive was is that isnt it like a bass boost too or can i turn that up

wtf am i supose to do drive to best buy and get a special wire harness for the alpine and what if it doesnt work it was smoking it might be done

and i hooked them up the same exact way but only one works is it because they are different brands they need to be wired different

In all honestly if you keep popping fuses and you cannot figure it out i would just go somewhere that could trace out and solve the problem (best buy, audio shop, etc)... theres no telling what the problem is without being able to see firsthand

let me tell you wat happen best buy installed my kenwood head unit all it is one plug that plugs in and rcas and the antana plug how could i mess that up ? ok so all i do is plug it in the thing starts smoking and it keeps blowing the little 15 fuses in my cars fuse panel i put in the kenwood head unit back in nothing happens it works fine

just put in a bigger fuse didnt blow but the headunit was albout to catch on fire wtf is wrong with this this the kenwood one still works fine does the alpine on need a special harness for it to work

Well, usually you would want to use an Alpine harness with well, an Alpine deck, and a Kenwood harness with a Kenwood deck. Even if the Kenwood harness fit in the Alpine, I still would NOT do that. I would order a harness for the Alpine. Now, you say new, does this mean that its new from a store or new to you but used? And Bestbuy is the last place you want installing your equip. I wouldnt be putting in larger fuses either! That would jus allow more power though to the unit and further mess it up.

Oh look, it's that guy who doesn't know how to properly install a car stereo and keeps ruining things then come here and asks why.

Take it to a shop next time because you obviously aren't skilled enough to do it yourself.

What you need is the Alpine harness for the ALPINE! If you dont have one or cant get one, use the Kenwood. Even if another harness from another brand does fit, dont use it. Common sense yo. That bein said, take it to a skilled pro so you dont catch your car on fire....

ok i dont want to take it to a shop unless they will do stuff for free and then charge me if it works because i dont know if this thing even works cause it was smoking and that might mean its dead but it does make my subwoofers make noises and there is no display **** it i dont care about it ill just use the kenwood one
