So I'm gonna install my new head unit tommorrow and i'll pull the stock radio out in the process. When i plugged my car in on crutchfield.com to see what installation materials i'd need it said i wouldn't need anything but they would provide a harness to bypass the factory amp. I bought my HU off ebay and it will come with generic harness...so how do i makesure i am bypassing the stock amp n' stuff??? Thx

Go to any car stereo shop and buy a wiring harness made for your car. Usually like $15 but well worth it. just wire that harness to the one going into your deck and you can just plug it straight into your factory wiring harness. Depending on your car, you may need a dash kit as well, also about $15 - $20.

I know i don't need a dash kit for sure because my stock unit is like already in dash kit sorat thing where the top (radio) part comes out seperate and leaves a DIN size opeining. How do i tell if i have a factory amp? I have a 1998 toyata camry LE w/ tape player LE trim level. I'll go to the car audioshop here...i hope they have it they never have anythin...that or BB might have it.
