depends on what features he wants... I would say you get get a pioneer 7700mp which would do well, or whatever, kinda open to alot of options... narrow down by brands... like pick 3 or 4 brands you like, then ask ?'s about them...

yea we'd like to know what features your friend is going to use. what is important to him? looks? sq? flexibility? the more popular HUs are eclipse, alpine, kenwood execelon, pioneer (premier), and clarion. i would personally stay within those companies but there are a few exceptions of course.
