Head unit cutting in and out

Hello all,

I have been having an issue with my head unit lately and need some help. Whenever a song with decent bass is playing and I turn the volume past 20 every time the bass hits the music cuts out and the head unit goes black for a split second then comes back and keeps playing but the issue keeps happening at every bass hit. I took the head unit off and hooked the speakers up individually and tested them at high volume one at a time and they were all good, it only happens when they are all hooked up. I redid all the connections including the ground and tested the power and it all seemed fine. I am at a loss here and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions, below are my specs

I installed these in my 2011 Honda Accord,
Head Unit = Alpine iLX-W650
Speakers = 4 Kicker 43DSC6504
No sub or amp

I am thinking the head unit itself is shorting when getting a certain amount of power but I'm not sure how to test that. Thanks in advance for any advice

It may just be you are pushing the radio too hard. It is only 16 watts RMS per channel while each speaker can handle 40w RMS. I suggest a 4 or 5 channel amplifier for better dynamic power. The difference will be day and night.

You need to invest in an amplifier as stated or keep the volume down. If you do not, you may end up cooking that HU
