Head unit and screens question.

I bought my truck with 2 screens in the back headrests hooked to a ps2. I want to buy another screen for my dash and upgrade speakers and such. want head unit first. Ima buy a flip out 7" emerson from my friend and then an alpine like this DVA-9861. Would i be able to play everythin as well and control the ipod and see it on the screen...or like watch videos from my video ipod? or should i just get a alpine all in one deal?
