In the left corner coming is a HCCA 12d dvc 2+2(pre maxxsonics)

Vs

The right a Eclipse SW8122 (svc @4)

Hcca with a record in ported 2.25cuft at 34hz

And Eclipse in sealed 1.25 cuft

What are each contenders strength and weakness

Eclipse is a better sub in a shity box and the os hcca is also nice but not as good as the eclipse.

So you want to know what's better an Orion like this

Or an eclipse like this

What's the systems goal? Each sub was designed for different setups. The Orion will take more abuse. Doesn't have the ****** cones that break around the surrounds. U don't have to worry about the cone getting dinged up but is more of an spl driver. The eclipse will play flatter.

I was originally planing on running both in their own boxes with each one by specs (1 ported 1 sealed) having the Orion at lower frequency ...... Idk why but I was curious to hear it.

I have BA z6 on doors and BA pros in a plates on back

125 rms x 4 and a 1200 rms amp

just want best woofer to compliment the rest of the setup.

The simple fact of you stating that you want to run 2 different subs in 2 different enclosures in the same car is reason enough to assume that you are completely wasting those BA Z6's. I'm guessing you have shit for an install on them and getting no where near their capability. How much are you willing to sell those for?

Build both boxes, test each sub in each box and see which you like. Same motor, different soft parts for different goals. Either should perform well for you. TC9 is a great platform. As some have said the Orion version softparts are a lot more forgiving for abuse.

The setup is pretty clean actually.

Had the alt beefed up. And the car eom has 2 batts already, 0 gauge to my BA gt-42 and had big 3 upgrade for sh1t5 and giggles. I had fglass enclosures built on the doors and the rear. And sounds really well without any sub.

Now for the sub I had the set up prepped with Dual 0 gauge wire for power and addition 0 gauge ground for the amp ( which I'm debating to go BA gt-28 or autotek sx-1200x(before maxxsonics)

And use hcca in a 2.25 ported box that i have tuned at 34hz powered by the autotek Or the eclipse in a 1.25 sealed with the GT-28.

Well I appreciate the help and I'm probably gonna go with the gt28 on the eclipse sealed.

The hcca was just a great price and I couldn't pass it up ( came w/ enclosure and the Autotek)

And yes I wanted to connect both at the same time and hear them both to compare how each one sounded with the rest of the set up.

I assumed having both of them connected side by side was the best way to determine which route to go. Never thought that would be a bad ideaor why it would be. I'm assuming some of you have a different way to compare car audio??

If so lmk what that method is

It's the dang time I need but youknow how that goes...

Lots of work at the office gets me the funds for the toys but no time for the noise. Lol
