HDC3 power handling?

I'm gonna be running one HDC3 12. I am wondering what people have ran on just one of these things. Are they under rated like sundown subs? My current plan is a skar rp2000 at 1 ohm (or .5 ohm idk).

I don't think they changed it much vs the older hdc3 but 2000 for copper coil 3500 for aluminum

I've seen 4K per aluminum before with great results

2k clamped is the limit meaning your skar will just be almost be enough to move it properly.

Ok that's about what I was thinking. I'm going to be just a tad short on power... The skar rp2000 clamps 2250 at 1 ohm at 14.3. So with box rise ill be clamping between 1400 - 2000 most of the time. Wish I could run a 2500 watt amp but my alternator will only be 220a

Unless you are going for every last tenth on the meter, that skar amp will be plenty.

I had a soundqubed 2200 on one HDC3 then when I got my soundqubed 4500 I put it on it at 1ohm and it did just fine with the 2200 but the 4500 it got stinky fast. It was a copper coil.

You will get 1k out of that skar clamped at best. Look at 2 to 4 ohm power if you account box rise because that is what you will see wired to 1 ohm

Nope set the gains and fed it the juice and it was happy.

Interesting...I just noticed you already replied to above link so that's what made me think of it. Completely user error.
