you sturrin at me brah?
not really a build log, but i got my amp in yesterday and finally have bass again after 3 months. i still have a little work to do, i'm dropping to mid 12s at idle, and mid 13s while i'm driving. i ordered an MLA module for 15.3v, but i still dont want to tax my alternator quite so much, so i'll be ordering another d3100 pretty soon. i have no idea where i'm going to put it though... i think i may have to relocate my component amps, remove the smaller of the rear seats and build a battery tray. the one i have now is located underneat the larger of the rear seats.

i'll try and get some videos up later today.

here you can see how low it sits in the rear from the weight.

as for the output... ouch. if i had to guess, i'd say even with the voltage drop and without having completely tweaked the settings, i'm doing 50's on music.

in about an hour of playing yesterday, i knocked the filaments loose in 2 of my domelights' bulbs. not really sure how i'm going to counter that.

much thanks to bj fisher for building the box, mobeious for his input, tommyk90 for the box design, and dB-r for the timely repair on the memphis.

good gawd, from no bass to 2 18"s on 4k //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

You aren't intelligent enough to make it do both? I feel for you.
2 18s under the windowline of an explorer without glassing? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

the box weighs 50 or 60 pounds i'd say. maybe a little more, its hard to gauge since i've never tried to lift something so big and ackward by myself.

not really sure yet. i'm thinking about just dropping it in the front to match, it doesnt ride all that bad with it that way. if i wanted to keep the stock height, i'd add some leaf springs and maybe some lifters on the shocks.

Looks good!
How do you like that year exploder? That is a 2000 correct? Or around there.....

Just wondering, because I could get a killer deal on one for right around 4k and only has 60k on the clock.
its a 98. i like it a lot, bought it for 6200 with 42k miles on it (ebay) have put 30k on it in the last 3 years, havent had to do anything but change the oil. i think the heater core will need replaced soon, there were a few days it didnt work... but thats not completely unexpected with an 11 yr old vehicle.
