I like speakers
this might be very obvious but since i am wondering and dont know the answer i ask: if i set my amplifier gains with a dmm to 55v (which i was told to put it at to get the theoretical 3000wrms from 1ohm on my Crunch GP3000d-pro, but with just a deka intimidator g31 under the hood and a stock alt it doesnt see anywhere near that...its at around 1500 with the imp rise to ~2ohm.) but my question has to do with clipping and i have created many threads and just have no gotten to the bottom of a mystery in my mind. i set the gains using a 36hz track (i also use a 40hz, just to see where that voltage would stand) and using a dmm helps so that you set the amp to output a certain amount of power so that you cannot reach clipping, but when that said, i set my gains to 52/62 of my pioneer deh6000u and most rap songs i cannot turn it past 50 without the speaker sounding like it may explode on certain quick hitting notes. the keak da sneak song blurps, i cannot turn past 48, is that maybe because the song is playing at a -3db or something??
should i set a filter somehow to only get frequencies is like the 32-60hz range?
the games' "hate it of love it" cannot be turned up to 47 without it sounding like the cone is about to pop out. and no, i do NOT us any sort of bass boost. my bass is turned off on my h/u, ALL levels are at zero (including the higher ones too..) no loudness or anything.
equipment:
sub: HDC312
amp: crunch gp-3000d pro
h/u: pioneer deh-6000u
another things is that my voltage sits nicely around 12.2-13.2 and like i said i have a g31 deka and the big three done with 1/0, a perfect ground from amp to chassis. i guess this turned out to be more than a small question i was originally going to ask.. but thanks in advance for any input.
