Not dumb. I just prefer new gear. But if the 1400 (used) is a significant diff. it could be well worth the lack of buying security.

Also, Anyone been keeping up with Shuriken reviews?

I'm leaning towards the Shuriken version of the 800 or 1400 actually based on reviews. And the fact that I can get either brand new for a decent price. Also, seems they are made by the same company, just wrapped lighter and a different sticker.

Might try an 800, and then just add another if i need.

If I were you I would go with XS power. Read about kinetik batteries swelling. I haven't ran XS nor Kinetik, but have done some reasearch and its only logical to me to go with XS power. People are going to say i've ran my Kinetic for "X" amount of years and no swelling problems, but then theirs people whos batteries have swelled up. I'm gonna end it on this..... look up how many XS power batteries have swelled...

Seems that I'd be looking at an extra ~60 for something almost identical on paper; though i realize real-world experience is everything.

Why is it that the XS Power 975 claims it is for 1000-2000w systems, whereas Kinetic and Shuriken claim they're almost identical models only want up to 800w?

How much difference can there be in the same chemical reaction with the same amount of reaction sites?
