Too much power, its a waste. A XXX does not need 2200 watts to reach its full potential. So what, turn the gains down? Why spend all the extra cash for watts you wont use/need? And, a bx2200d costs almost $450, you can **** near buy two bx1500d's for that price, if you are intent on overkill.

well he said sealed box and since EVERYONE here who has a brutus is always saying how UNDERRATED they are.....but thats my OPINION so take you however you like...no need to make the smaller one clip like hell....so thank you and merry christmas.

People say they are underrated? Everyone Ive seen has pretty much been rated right about what it should put out. You certainly dont need to clip a bx1500 to get the full potential out of a XXX, sealed or not. And again, if you are intent on overkill, a pair of bx1500's would be more power, more heatsink, dual power supplies, etc for not alot more than a 2200 would cost. IMO the bang for buck on the brutus' starts going down past the 1500 or 1800.

smack me for that one----i meant overrated. but anyways thats just how i like to power my subs---i like to use an amp that has quite a bit more potential than the rated rms of the sub. since i never turn my volume up to the point where my subs are at the rms volume -- i know there no danger of my amp clipping hard and sending lots of distortion to my sub---easier on both pieces of equipment. and i would never buy the brutus anyways thats why i'm going with the power acoustik at $330. just stating my opinion. not trying to start shit.

In my experience the brutus line of amps isn't really underrated or overrated, I guess we've had different experiences with them. Ebay has 2200's for about $440. For that money there are better quality amps (imo) that may not be as powerful, but like I said you dont really need 2200 watts. I just have a diff opinion on the situation.
