Current system:

3 12" kicker l5's

Kenwood amp (900 watts rms, ~1800 max)

tri-chamber vented cabnet approx 35-38 htz

Goal:

I want to keep my current system and build upon it. I am looking to spend $800-$900 for subs (idealy 4) and amp. I burp about 145 w/ my current setup and would like to see 153-155 if possible. Have fun and try not to hurt my feelings

vehicle is a '97 blazer... plenty of room

You will need more power and need to wall your vehicle. 4 mid level 15's at 500 watts ea will get you close to a 50 depending on vehicle and your build.

First off, I have the same amp and subs at 2 ohms, plan on making them 1 ohm stable. at least when the rain clears up.....

So anyway you plan on having six subs all together running off one amp?

enellz, the subs are the 2 ohm model... amp wired at ~1.33 ohms (as close to one ohm as possible w/ those subs) i have 900 bucks for the amp and subs... i was thinking about and earthquake amp ( http://cgi.ebay.com/New-EARTHQUAKE-PHD5000W-Car-Amp-5000w-Mono-Ch-Amplifier_W0QQitemZ200212522324QQihZ010QQcategoryZ64570QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) for $400 including shipping and using the remaining $500 for subs...

as far as selling and upgrading goes, my current setup aint bad for sql... i dont think the system is worth as much to someone else as it is to me

Idea for the $900...watch your local Craigslist electronics listings. Subs show up a lot in the big cities and college towns. Wait until someone has some killer gear you would like for a cheap price. What they paid $900 for will fall into your lap for $300! When you get the right deal, snag it and throw the gear into a pile.

Then like another poster says, it's Wall Time!

My favorite sub story: The kid with the clapped out Buick Regal who gets his rig redone on "Pimp My Ride". The sub took up the entire back area and weighed over 200 pounds if I remember right. Up front the installer put in a light that said Ridiculous Bass when the sub kicked in. That was some Serious Stuff!

i will be running dual alternators and most likey two yellotops... i already have the extra equipment for the electrical upgrades so that is not factored into my budget... i am thinking of adding 4 12" kicker kickers l7's and the earthquake to my 3 l5's

What do you guys think? sound like 153-155 neighborhood to you
