This is probably the wrong forum, but im looking for a fast answer.

i want to hardwire my radar detector, how do i go about doing that.

ive read some websites that talk about it, but they are too vague.

i know i need to run wires to a possitive charge, and a ground... do i split the current wire i have into two wires or what?

thanks

Take the wire that goes into the cigarette lighter, cut off the end. One's going to be positive, the other negative...wire it up into the fusebox, as the current draw probably won't be that much.

And remember never to drive through VA or DC with it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

buy a lighter outlet, a female and do what frosty said, then plug your radar ligher plug in to it, that way you wont have to cut the radar lighter plug up, and you can disconect it. when you want.
