Hardest Part?

The hardest part of my first install was taking my time and making sure I was doing everything correctly and not rushing just to fire it up. Second time around was installing components; namely the tweeter baffle made from plexiglass

Fitting 8.5cubes net in the trunk of my car, but even harder is figuring out where to put 2 more Sundown amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

Honestly I don't find any of it that hard and actually enjoy doing install stuff and building boxes. Sort of relaxing IMO. Probably doesn't hurt that I've been building drag cars since I was 20, so I don't really come across any challenges I can't figure out. Other than my current amp situation.

I will say that getting through the firewall on new cars can be a ***** at times //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Hardest part, making everything look good. Hooking up some subs and an amp is easy enough, but taking the time to plan everything around making it look good is where things get tricky.

In your opinion, what was the hardest part of installing your system?
ill start it off

The hardest part for me was finding out where the stock amplifier was located in my jeep grand Cherokee.
ummm how was that hard? didnt you ever flatten out your rear seats ?i mean its right there stickin out under the left rear passenger seat and says "INFINITY" in big letters.... having done my own grand cherokee.... the hardest part was running the rca's to the head unit... or running speaker wire to the right front door.... this being a ZJ i should also mention....

I think finding a spot in the firewall to run power wire, and in trunks, to find the space to build what you want..

Does anyone know a resource for firewall placement for drilling, etc? Just figured id ask..

Andrew

My hardest part would be running my power wire, as I didn't run it through my car, but under. PVC pipe, bends, running through the frame, then getting the wire to bend to run up a 90 degree angle, with about a 3in.x6in. hole and then I had to get my hand past some brake lines. I still have yet to get a **** wire grommet in there.

I've found it safest, on the vehicles I have done, is to drill right behind brake and gas pedal. I highly recommend running power under the car. You don't have to go to the extent that I do, as some zip ties, and wire clamps. Then you don't have to rip up both sides of the interior.

Thats true.. normally i have one person on one side, and listen for where im hitting, if i can't find a spot. normally there is somewhere with a grommet already, otherwise I find another spot, or make sure its gonna be safe drilling, I just hate the chance of hitting something.. ESPECIALLY on a customers car..
