Mmmm, I voted 357/44. I own alot of handguns and my fav is my ruger super redhawk in 44 mag. It has plenty of juice to drop something at 75-80 yards. 38 special would have to be my second choice.

For all you gurus, an easy one....What other round interchanges with a 38 special //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

For the hardcore guys....The .45 Long Colt round can be fired in what caliber pistol besides .45?

well for me it is a toss up between 45 and 357 i love both my gl 45 and my smith 357 not much into hand guns though, but if you wanna talk long range rifle we can dang sure do that. i run a remi PSS in 308 and 300 win mag with leo scopes for the 1000 yard range, bench rest and rail guns are for sissys

you can put 38special rounds in a 357mag pistol but not vice versa

there is actually no such thing as a ".45 Long Colt" it is just .45 Colt. for some reason some manufactures put the word "Long" onto there guns and it stuck with everyone. And for the question I would have to say you can also fire the .45 Colt in a 454 Casull pistol

i dont really have a favorite ammo, i like rifles over handguns as my aim with handguns sucks @$$ and im verry accurate w/ rifles

ive shot ammo sizing from 22 to some long dart shaped thing, i really dont know what its called, but you can literally feel the shockwave from the explosion of it. not something id ever fire without proper hearing protection

edit: i think i remember the long dart like bullet being something like 300-400 grain or something like that? no clue what it means though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The rumors of my demise were slightly exaggerated.

thanks steve..hehe

.40sw all the way...i would like to say .357 sig..but i've never fired it, just read about it..

also....38/357..yep yep...45lc in the .410 yep,yep

u know, i gotta thinkin (yep, i do that sometimes) why is it..no one has mentioned .38 super? (ok noobs, hush) phoneman, u especially. u do alot of range shooting..any thoughts?

my uncle used to have a springfield custom 1911 in .38super, fully adjustible trigger, extended "beavertail"(or ducktail, i can't remeber to be honest..u'll know i'm sure) safety, burr hammer....halo sight...anyway...this is the smoothest thing i have ever fired! (yeah, he has like $4000 grand in it) fully comped barrell...absolutely no felt recoil(the kind that moves the gun)...u could literally drive nails with this thing...

anyway..just thought i'd throw that in..

here's another easy one.....

which 9mm round is the parabellum?

phoneman...give them a few trys before u answer....

it's google time!!

rifle, i'm old skool....savage rifle, 30/06 rd, 180gr hornaby's..yep,yep

another question......what does the 30 in 30/06 mean? the 06 in 30/06?

and one i don't know...what does the second 30 in 30/30 mean? it's google time..hehe

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/peace.gif.2db28b618ed8d1964ebbe2f5021d2c39.gif

Well for the 38 super, I have never shot one but have seen a few 1911 chambered for it. It was one of those cartridges used for a short time with law enforcement but didnt catch on to much I dont think. I am pretty sure the hole idea on the 38 super was to get a round inbetween the 38 special and the 357 mag power wise and make it into an auto loading cartridge. I also believe it spawned another round called the 9mm federal or maybe vice versa. I think the 9x19 is what kept the 38 super from getting very popular since it can be loaded to produce similar velocity and energy as the 38 super, plus the 9x19 uses a shorter casing which means you will have a shorter action and it will fit in a more compact frame/design..

30-06 mean 30 caliber in 1906. not sure on the 30-30 since I was never really interested in it.
