Ham Radio

hey jim, whats your call letters? i don't have my licence yet, but i still listen in a lot. mostly to 2 meter stuff, but i will hit up my uncles bigger set and listen in. i need to studie some more so i can get mine. allthough i've learned morse code > me. i still havn't got that down yet.

as far as the radios go about the nicest ones ive seen are the icom radios. just got done putting one in my fatherinlaw's 02 Tahoe. real clean to the brain is under the center console and the only thing on the dash is the display and the mic

KG4NEL. I've been thinking about getting a shortened vanity call, but haven't picked one yet.

Anything over 10wpm or so kicks my ***. I had to take the 5wpm test, but they did away with the higher speeds by the time I took the exams //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

those are mainly home radios right? i wanna be able to put it on my dash
All the big manufacturers (Icom, Kenwood, Yaesu) make mobile radios...I had an Icom IC-706MK2G that had the remote faceplate, the radio itself went under the seat, the control head and microphone were all I had up front.
