Alright first hello to everyone.

The story is I had a whole system installed in my car. I have a SX1250.1 powering one 12" L7. The L7 was at 1 ohm getting the whole 1250. Now the Manual says to use a 0-2 gauge wire but the installer used a 4. Kicker says that's probably why it went down (SX1250). They say that amp is very sensitive to that. Installers says thats not true. Thing is Kicker fixed the amp under warranty and sent it back

to me so I'll be putting it back in on Sat. Need some input on this.

Also, I have the amps installed my spare tire compartment. The SX overheated once before it died on me so I think I'll install some crossflows to get ventilation

going since there isn't any right now. the other amp (Big a$$ Boston a) does not overheat. Some input on this would be be appreciated also. Thank you.

here is a pic of where the amps are.

You might have just answered your own question.

It's likely that you could have gotten away with the 4 awg. Then again, it depends on how thick the 4 awg really is (some are over or undersized). We also don't know how hard you pushed the amp or how much current it was drawing.
