H/U Bass Level = Distortion????

I have an alpine so it doesnt come with a Subwoofer level its all incorporated with "bass level" from -7 to +7

I set the gains with it at zero... Should I redo the gains at +7 and then turn it down accordingly.

Your alpine doesn't have a subwoofer level? I have an alpine 9887 and mine has one. Does the bass level also effect the door speakers as well?

my alpine had a sub control??? i turn my gain to where it needs to be then use my aub control to turn the sub up and down accordingly...guess thats the best way to explain it...and if thats setting on your amp is just the bass control id leave it alone. could send freq. to ur speakers you dont want...doesnt just go to the subwoofer.

Alpine doesnt have a bass boost, it only acts to lower the bass level so the amp wont be overdriven.

The +7 will be full output without distortion, and thats the level you should use to set the gain on your amp.

I do have SUBWOOFER CONTROL from 0 - 15 (set the gains at 15)

The "bass level" i'm referring to effects the mid/rear/ and subwoofers

Ok that's what I needed to know. I've always set the gains with the all levels at ZERO (minus the sub control 15/15) and it never seemed like I was getting full rms out of my amplifiers unless I played the deck full tilt which I hate to do for daily.

I have an alpine 9884 and i kinda have the same problem. When I turn the bass up on the HU (-7 to +7) I get lots of distortion in both the subwoofer and the door speakers. I also have the subwoofer level control that goes up to +15, but it doesnt seem to do anything. Also, should loudness be on or off?

if it affects the speakers in the car then leave it at zero....but i find it hard to beleive it doesnt have a sub control somewhere in there...just use ur bass knob u got with your amp then

loudness off. all it does from my understanding is increases certain feq. at lower volumes. turn it off. set your gain lets say with your sub control on 15 then you should be able to turn the sub control down and tell a difference...
