Looking to upgrade my electrical for 4kw. I have a 1999 Pon. Grand Am SE. Wondering what some good companys would be to go to.

Also, is it better to have dual alts or just one H.O. one? I'd imagine dual, but I wonder how much work it is to do that?

**** HO alts

2 stock or non ho alts

equals more reliability

every ****ing HO alt company out there has had a few alts they have sold that haven't performed up to their specs or ****ed up in less than a couple years

for 4k support, might as well veer around that risk and run two non high output alts

my opinion

thats because people buy cheapass HO alternators that are just smallcase altys wound differently.

get a decent HO alternator, and you wont have issues (mechman, DC, etc)

double edit: i'll play nice,

OP, ignore cravingbasses post

Another winner of an alternator thread.

Mechman builds good stuff. The customer service is great and the products are better quality than almost anything else I have seen.

There are others but I have heard of problems with their warranty and build quality.
