Guess what???? My 150a alternator blew

my freaking alternator blew......... wtf i spent like 400 dollards for that thing do not get a alternator from starcharge ........I was just out in the cold waiting 1 hour for a freaking tow truck and no its not the battery i was ruining a lightning audio deep cycle/ starter battery ...... I dont even know what to say....... im just gonna get my old alt rewound whats a acceptiable rate for money per amps.............. and should i get my stock..... or hioutput rewound? will the hi out put work to rewind since it blew? and what how many amps should i go for? do u think i can rewind a stock for 160+ amps im thinking about running 2 hifonics hercules at 2 ohms each 200 watts total and a hifonics 4 channel amp 380 wayys total arounf a 150 current draw total could i get my alt rewound for 200amps do u think?

and how does a alternator waarrenty go? we did drop and the puley chiped and it was a tiny bit banged up from when we took it out? do u think i can talk to starcharge and get another one ?

that answers my unasked question.. I was thinking of getting a starcharge alt.. not anymore. but the cracksmokers at car toys told me today they would help me out for anywhere between 800 and 1000 bucks.. I think not.. back to the drawing board

yeah i know 150a amps with no rewireing my ass..................i suggets going with mr alternator thats were i should have gone but i wanted the extra 10 amps

btw what do your two MAX's hit? have you ever been measured? I am thinking of adding another one to my system...

im just gonna get my stcok rewound.... since i still have it can i get the h.o. rewound?/....... my alt has been messing up ever since i got it so i have still not been able to drop to 1 ohm my amp puts out 450 at 4 ohms it bumpos tho preaty loud but still

i wouldn't touch the ohio generator alternators. had MANY bad reviews on them. some guy spent $600 on a single alternator and it went out after 1 year (had 1 year warranty) and OG wouldn't replace it. they wanted to charge him over $200 to get it fixed. he said screw it and got a mr. alternator instead. but i'd go over to termpro and ask dominick for alternators. gotten great results from him.

it will work just as good once its at the same amperage. ne way you do have some serious bad luck we should do some vodo on you lol j/k... good luck

yeh for real i have the worst luck..... but at leaast i know what to do now.....what does the avarge shop chaqrge per amp to rewind and does it start from 0 or the amps on the alternator

they called me its gonna be 215 total there gonna rebuild my ho alternator i asked them if the could rewind it to 150 amps they said they would so well see

Do Powermaxx alternators cut it? Ive never used anything other than Ohio Generators or the OEM replacement.
