**** I want to glass them in for mid bass but I dont really have enough room for them in the foot well, or enough depth in the door either //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I got them today... small error in shipping when i called RE, But Scott called UPS for me... and when i got home from work... there they were... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif woohoo time to get out the power tools... and slam them in a box!!

I get a e-mail from RE on the 15 with my tracking number and expected arrival date of the 18. I get home on the 18 and UPS left a note,we tried to drop off your package. So I go pick it up. My two RE 8's. I'm pretty tight with money and trust with money. But I would not have a problem doing business with RE again.

TO THE TOP!!!!!

How long is this sale going to go on for??? I might do some more business with them, but I don't get paid until friday //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Well today I ordered up a pair of the RE8's for a friends Nissan 240SX to be mounted in fiberglass box's where the stock rear-seat arm rests usually are. Now the guy on the phone said that for the RE8's to really shine they need to be ported and recommended .6 cu.ft for each box tuned to 35hz with a minimum 3" diameter port. Now with that size of box, port frequency and port diameter I end out with a port length of almost 26 inches! Now that just isn't gonna work with a fiberglass box unless I do some insane Blue Man Group style PVC pipe twist and bends. I'm working in a limited area and am concerned about this porting. Would it be ok if I run them in a 1 cu.ft. box tuned to the same frequency and port diameter? With a 1 cu.ft.box I get a 15.5" port length. They will be powered off of a Kenwood 729s amp bridged to put 300watts RMS into the pair of serial-wired RE8's. Anyone have any recommendations for these? Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!!!

Its better to divide the two subs and use two different ports. Loyd used a 2" PVC pipe on his review, you just dont want wistling to occure. Try this site, you can play with numbers

Also the acoustic power of the sub is not how much power you are going to be putting in the sub, but rather how loud the driver (RE8) can play in certian sized rooms. For this plug in .23 for one RE8...

In the review he built a ported box that was .45 cu.ft. with a single 2" diameter port that was 3.2" long. According to the review those port dimensions tuned the port to 33hz. How is this possible??? According to LinearTeam's own port calculator to get a 33hz tuning out of a 2" diameter port it would have to be 15.446" long. Is he using some new fangled math that noone else knows of?

Anyways....I'm planning on putting each RE8 in its own seperate enclosure and want to port them for maximum output in my friend's Nissan 240sx. BTW....what is the sub's install depth? I'm working with a very tight space. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

that scared me for a while too I thought "hell, if thats right, why am I trying to build these huge slot ports in the first place?"

I've tried 3 programs and all three give a 15.xxx" long

must have been a typo.maybe he meant 13 instead of 3?
