Any word on pricing yet? Also, these seem to be more of a SQ sub but a few pages back you had said they were louder than you expected. What are the chances of these also being a good SPL sub?

The pricing will be up on the shop as soon as we are ready to go.

 

As for SPL, the we intended the ICON to be a great / well built / beefy SQ biased sub. Meaning I was not expecting it to be loud, nor was it a goal, so when testing the prototype and now with Marks 2 15" install, we found that the output is kind of a bi-product. Which I feel they could do well in a bassrace application or a street class SPL install.

 

But, for super street, or extreme vehicles, the ICON is not meant to withstand thousands upon thousands of watts. Plus due to the make up of the sub, it would not peak well for higher power SPL installs, for a rough idea check the lower Fs.

 

I think there might be a confusion as to the purpose of this sub. Is it going to go heads up against a BTL or Death Penalty? No way. Is it going to hang with a MAG or Aura? Not quite, but our aim is to be close. Keep in mind those subs are in a some what higher price bracket and they are tops in the industry for sound quality.

 

So the ICON is a SQ biased sub with some strong output blended in with out sacrificing clarity that is not going to break your wallet.
