I know going through the vendors that sell CLD,CCF and MLV could be costly even without adding shipping.

I found a couple of places that sell MLV, not CLC and CCF, $119.00 for a roll of 4 by 25 feet

The other place is similar in price and it costs about the same, one is in PA and the other one is on the West Coast in CA. Personally I need to do maybe 3 cars, interested on doing the floors not much of vertical areas. 100ft is more than I would need.

I love this idea and would totally be behind it how would we split it unless we all pay the first person who recieves it they cut off what they need then send the rest and the scraps from his project, for all the odd little bits you always end up needing, to the next person and everyone just keeps using the smallest cuts possible to make it stretch farther, or the first person cuts it for everyone and sends it out

problem is the majority of the cost with MLV is shipping. it is literally 1 pound per square foot.

a group buy only works if everyone lives close to each other and finds a commercial distributor.

MLV is also known as duct lagging in the commercial HVAC world. they buy assloads of it to wrap around large HVAC ducts for breakout noise reduction (i know because i spec that stuff in large commercial installations).

contact them for less. $150 for 100 sq. ft. of 1/2 lb/sf MLV is a fair price and it will do just as well as 1 lb/sf in a car due to the gaps and door seals. MLV does need to be decoupled from the floor metal to be effective. a rebound layer or foam works well for that.
