grounding the head unit

so i wired this head unit, and there were a couple different grounds for the new head unit i was installing. What i did was wire the 3 or so wires to the old ground, Will this work, because the old ground is 1 wire, and i have about 3 hooked up to it??

That should work fine. Also, its good they are grounded at the same spot.

where is the old ground? some where in the dash? id move it..

yeha its probably somewhere in the dash. becuase it is just the old wire, i couldnt find another place in dash to put it, where should it go??

Straight to bare metal is best, I guess the firewall would be the place, but personally I just use the existing ground spot/wire.

The question I have is why would any HU have three grounds?

i dono, it was there was the ford amp ground wire, the regular ground, and another ground i think from the old radio because it had a cd changer in it. or it was some other wire from like an illumination ground or something.

maybe there was only 2, but i think there was 3

yeah, i relooked at it and it was actually only two grounds, one for the ford amp, and the ground for the head unit, but thanks for the help
