Ground Shaker Boxes

Usually for sound quality applications, it is best to use sealed boxes. If you must use a ported box, it is usually best to build your own. The thing with pre-fab boxes is that they are usually tuned to a higher frequency than a custom built box. The boxes sound alright for rap, but not much else. the thing they accel at is usually output though.

For sound quality applications where ported boxes are required look for a lower tuning frequency like 35hz or below.

i have to agree, if your looking for SQ going with a custom enclosure will be your best route. manipulating the subwoofer output by building the proper enclosure. will keep you from having to use filters to gain close but not similar result and have better control over the freq responce of the sub. then you would with an enclosure with unknow parameters. prefabs enclosures like stated above are tuned high. and built in that way to try and satisfy the most general applications.
