Gronding at engine block?

So have been dealing with engine whine issues for a while so I had this idea...run 4 AWG from where I grounded the engine block to the chassis for the big 3, run it to the trunk and strap a distro block to it to attach to all of my amps.....then I will run a wire from my HU ground and ground it at the engine block as well... any thoughts on my brilliant grounding idea

the engine whine is usually voltage drop related - and from grounding point selections or connection resistance.

the vehicle metal should have lower resistance/ft. than 4 awg wire. it's worth a try, but i'd use 1/0. i'd ground HU to amps first - that is the crucial ground loop circuit you want to minimize. your plan introduces more resistance between amp and HU.

sometimes, it's just the amps or HU causing the problem.
