what i think they ment when they said it doesnt have the same impact at home is that the movie has like scratches and stuff to give it an old style feel or somethin. That right there pissed the film guy at the theater i work off because its what he tries to prevent.

I saw it last night, yes it was pretty long but it's def funny. I think if ur one of those people who tries to make sense of everything then u probably wont like it. It's really random shit. It's 2 seperate movies rolled into 1, the 2nd one is kinda boring for a little while tho. But there's alot of stuff that sometimes u would think would be funny if it happened in a movie and it does.

Tis more of a reimagining than a remake. Same characters, different plot. It has very little to do with the original series other than characters and a few scenes. Hopefully Rob makes him scary again. BTW, the trailor is online now.

Why wouldnt it be good at home?

Ok, first off you need to have the right expectations when you go to see the movie. It is designed for movie buffs first and foremost. You'd need to imagine going to see a movie in Bum Fuck Texas, or Alabama.... or any state with tiny hick towns with a roadhouse or something. Now imagine it's about 1974 when they had pornos and movies with sub $10,000 budgets in theaters.

Situations like that really existed, and they were hot, run-down theaters where there was no "projectionist" working there so the film is all degraded and the equipment is run down.

Now add in the '70s slasher movies and that's what you get in Grindhouse. You have purposely added miscues with the actors as actors in slasher flicks sucked, and you have funny errors where people call a character by the wrong name, kind of like they forgot their line.

It is all of the subtle errors and the not-so-subtle gore that made the movie hilarious to me. I do not fully expect everyone to "get" it. Especially younger people that have grown up on a steady diet of modern high budget movies.
