Hey all.
Great site you all got here. I've been lurking around for a while and have already learned much.
I'm getting ready to install a full system into my 2003 F250 Superduty CrewCab. This isn't my first venture into car audio, but will be my first attempt at a complete system install. I figure a SuperDuty shouldn't be too hard. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
Here is what I've assembled so far...
Source- Alpine CDA-9883
Amp- JL Audio 500/5
Front- MB Quart RCE-513- 5.25 component system
Rear- Polk Audio DB 570- 5x7 coax rear fill
Subs- 2 JL Audio 10w1v2 8ohm - 10"
Explicit Sound Connection sub enclosure- found on Ebay

I also got Dynamat and foam baffles for the front doors. I figure the Dynamat is a no brainer, but what about the foam baffles? I understand that they will kill bass output, but thats what I got the subs for. I figure at the very least I should use them with the bottoms cut out for protection from the elements.
Amp settings... this JL amp has all sorts of built in crossovers. I was going to set the front/rear highpass to ~80hz front and ~100hz rear. I was going to lowpass the subs at 80hz. Any thoughts or suggestions on my crossover points?? 12db or 24 db slope??
Thanks.
